You may have heard that I’m certified in animal reiki.
So what exactly does that mean?
Let’s take a deeper look.
Animal reiki is a holistic alternative medicine therapy that can restore the energy in your pets body.
Your pets are like walking sponges. They absorb energy of the house, parks, stores, and vet offices, reiki helps to release this energy that has been stored in their body.
Energy blockages can manifest as physical symptoms.
*As any good animal reiki master will say, please make sure your pet has had their annual exam to rule out any medical issues.*
By keeping the energy within your pet’s body balanced at its natural state, it helps enhance your pet’s health and can help with disease and illness prevention.
How Does Animal Reiki Work?
Your animal reiki master will generate universal life force energy between their hands and gentle send it to your pet.
Fun fact: the animal decides where the energy will go for healing.
An animal reiki session can last anywhere from 10-60 minutes. It can be performed virtually anywhere in the world and your pet will still receive the healing.
While most practitioners prefer to offer animal reiki in the home or at a studio, some like myself, will choose to offer it a distance.
This can be much more cost effective and may offer a calmer experience for your pet.
What Else Can Animal Reiki Help With?
While animal reiki’s main benefit is restoring the natural flow of energy in your pets body, here are a few of the many benefits of animal reiki:
- Relieve traumatic experiences in shelters for rescue dogs.
- Strengthen the connection to you and your pet.
- Help remove unwanted behavior patterns by healing toxic energy that is being stored in the body.
- Promote stress and anxiety free living for pets who are prone to separation anxiety.
- Help alleviate pain in joints and bones.
- Provide comfort for pets who may be terminally ill.
- Remove trauma from your pet’s past life
Animal Reiki Preparation
There’s a running joke that the animal reiki begins the second you book a session.
With that being said, there is not a lot of preparation that needs to be done before an animal reiki session.
The only preparation you may want to consider is ensuring that your pet is resting or sleeping prior to an animal reiki session.
Is There Any Aftercare?
Yes!
After an animal reiki session you may need to increase your pet’s water intake.
Due to animal reiki releasing toxic energy in your pet’s body, you pet may be more thirsty or hungry than usual. They may also be more energetic, or sleepier than normal. They also may appear to have cold like symptoms.
These are all normal experiences with animal reiki sessions.
*It is important to keep in mind that animal reiki is NOT a replacement for medical care. If you suspect that your pet is having a medical crisis, please see your local Vet immediately.
*You also may want to make sure your pet has had their annual exam. This helps rule out any underlying medical issues. In fact, I personally will not provide reiki to any animal unless they have had their annual exam within the last year or two.
